The East Harlem area is a diverse group of people who enjoy the heavy arts culture, and bustling restaurant scene as more and more people flock to the area. It’s renovation over the past decade has made East Harlem a must desired location to reside. This area was previously known as Spanish Harlem or El Barrio for the reason that it’s predominately Latino Americans who live there. The total population of this area is large at around 117,000 people.
A number of young professionals have recently moved there into high rise luxury buildings that commute everyday to various jobs all over Manhattan. Metropolis is a major television studio that is located there, and puts on programming for BET Television. Comedian David Chappelle’s show was produced there that was on Comedy Central for a few years.
